Summer Shorts

As you can tell, J.Crew is one of my favorite stores ever. I love preppy style. I also love that most of the items at J.Crew are classic and they can be worn for years without going out of style. One of my favorite items that I've purchased there is the 3 inch chino short. I have them in SEVEN colors. I love them that much! They also have these shorts in longer lengths if you are more comfortable in a longer short.

Here is a picture of the colors of shorts that I own. From bottom up they are white, mini delicious apple, neon green, casablanca blue, modern red, neon pink, and stone.

Here I've paired the mini delicious apple shorts with a blue and white striped button down.

I also wore my favorite green Sperry's!

Here I paired the casablanca blue chino shorts with a red blouse.

The white shorts look great with a t-shirt for a relaxed look when I am heading to class!

Here is another pic of all of my chino shorts in my drawer.

I've paired the neon pink chino shorts with a black and white striped, sleeveless, collared blouse form Forever 21 and Tory Burch flats.

If you've seen me in the past few weeks, I'm sure you've seen me wearing one of these tops. I bought them in both colors because I love them so much! They are perfect and look great with tons of outfits. You could pair either of these shirts with the casablanca blue shorts and some metallic Sperry's. Buy these tops here.

Here are the neon green shorts with an oversized crocheted Sanctuary top that I purchased from Anthropologie. I paired the outfit with some Sam Edelman flats!

I hope you enjoy the summer! xoxo

Nail Polish

I love nail polish! People are always surprised when they see my collection of polishes. I rarely go get manicures because I can paint my own nails pretty well. I have LOTS of colors. My friend Marissa and I can usually guess the name of the color that the other person has on their fingers because we are obsessed with polishes! I store my polishes in this storage box from Pottery Barn. I have a bunch of them that I label and store different things in. I love having matching storage boxes. Anyways, here is my box and some pictures of my collection!

Here is my whole collection! Most of my polishes are OPI, but I also love Essie, Nicole by OPI, and China Glaze. They can be purchased from Sally's beauty, Ulta or Sephora.

These are the boxed mini OPI sets that I have. I have more minis than these, but these are the ones that I've kept in boxes! I decided to start keeping them in boxes because the little ones break really easily. Whenever funky colors like the Nicki Minaj colors come out, I usually buy the minis because I won't use most of those colors very much. If I like them, then I buy the bigger version. This Dutch Treats Holland sets is one of my favorite collections! I love the colors!

Here are my Hunger Games collection by China Glaze. I LOVE THEM! The top left is called "Dress Me Up" and is one of my absolute favorite polishes. It is a rose-taupe color. This picture does not do it justice! I really love these colors because they are great for everyday wear- they aren't too bright or too out there! One of my other faces in this collection is "Agro" which is the green one. This green is packed full of gold sparkles and it's so cute!

Here are my Essie polishes. I love essie because it goes on thin and dries relatively quickly.

Here are a few of the collections that I have. Left to right:

Top row- Kardashian Kollection colors, Katy Perry by OPI collections
Second Row- Shrek by OPI, Texas by OPI collection.
Bottom Row- Justin Bieber's 'One Less Lonely Girl' Collection by Nicole for OPI, and my Hunger Games by China Glaze collection.

I have more pieces of these collections, but with 4 sisters, polishes seem to grow legs and walk away.

These are my favorite polishes!
Top row:
'Princesses Rule!' This polish was given to me by one of my best friends Marissa! It is a shimmering soft pink color and I love it!,
'Lincoln Park After Dark SUEDE'
 'You Don't Know Jacques MATTE,'
'Light my Sapphire,'
 'So Many Clowns...So Little Time,'
' Give me Moor!' (My most used polish- I have two bottles of this deep red color),
'Black Onyx'
'Teenage Dream' of the Katy Perry OPI collection,
Second Row:
'Fois Gras' of the Hunger Games collection,
'Dress Me Up' of the Hunger Games collection,
'Suzy Skis in the Pyrenees',
'Red My Fortune Cookie,'
'Russian Navy,'
'Shorts Story,'
'Secret Story,'
'Over the Taupe,'
'Pedal Faster Suzi!' from the Dutch Treats Holland collection.

Stock up on polishes and begin your own collection! It's always so fun to have a ton of different options! xoxo Anna

Sandals!

It is an absolutely beautiful day today! I was so excited to be able to put on some shorts and sandals. I decided to share some of my favorite sandals with you. I have a few more at my home in Austin that I left behind, but these are the ones I decided to bring back with me to school.

From left to right: Sam Edelman Leopard Hamilton Sandal, Sam Edelman Zebra Gigi Sandal, Sam Edelman pewter Ginger Gladiator flats, Steve Madden sparkly T strap Sandals, Dolce Vita gold sandals, Bottom: Baker's brown gladiator sandals, Talbot's gold flip flops, Tory Burch Pink sandals, Tory Burch flip flops.

Here are one of my faves (the Sam Edelman Leopard Hamilton Sandal) with a J. Crew striped dress and a J.Crew belt.

If you want to wear a more colorful outfit, try something like this! This would be a normal summer outfit for me. J.Crew striped top (still in stores, but not available online) , J. Crew Chino Shorts in 'Casablanca Blue', and Tory Burch pink sandals. I love the pink color pop but you could also pair an outfit like this with some silver or gold sandals.

I love this next outfit. This floral blouse is from Nordstrom and this beautiful skirt is hand crocheted by my boyfriend's mother, Lisa! The skirt is one of my all-time favorite items in my closet. It even has a drawstring so that it fits perfectly! Isn't it so cute?! I paired this sweet outfit with the Sam Edelman Ginger gladiator flats.  I love it!

Next is a casual, every day outfit for me. This striped top is from J. Crew, the shorts are Seven For All Mankind, and the sandals are from Talbot's. I actually have these sandals in another color, but they are at home right now. You could also wear this outfit with some brown Rainbow sandals. I left me rainbows at home, but they are simple and cute with an outfit like this!

Invest in some nice sandals that will last you several years. Spend more on sandals that are less trendy and more classic. Happy Summer!! xoxo Anna

Rain boots

It is super rainy and yucky in West Texas today so I thought I would talk a little bit about rain boots. Let me first just say that I really do not like wearing rain boots because they are pretty uncomfortable when you have to walk a lot in them. However, I do think it is a staple that everyone should have in their closet because they are really nice when it is raining really hard or you are out on a muddy ranch. I had to walk to class today and it was so nice to have warm, dry feet. I see a lot of people wearing cute Burberry rain boots and I love them! I also think the high gloss Hunter rain boots are adorable! I have a pair of blue Marc Jacobs rain boots that I bought with my sister and mom in Boston. I love them because I think they are a great color!  Target carries so many adorable pairs of rain boots and are totally worth it! Consider investing in a pair of rain boots!

New Shoes!

I have been looking for a new cute pair of wedges and I finally found some at Francescas.

Since they are a little more trendy with the bow, I didn't want to spend too much on them so these were a great choice! I also wanted some that were able to be worn with shorts. Heels with shorts are awkward sometimes so I wanted something that had a shorter heel. These will be so cute! They can be worn with a sundress, skinny jeans or cute shorts.

Here they are paired with a sweet dress and belt from Anthropologie. This is one of my favorite dresses and will be so cute worn with these shoes.

Here is the shoes paired with a red silk shirt from Ann Taylor and white chino shorts from J CREW. The picture doesn't capture how gorgeous the red blouse is but it is so cute together and so simple to wear.

Hope you love this look! xoxo Anna

Scarves

Having a fab collection of scarves is an absolute essential for a fashion forward woman. Scarves can add so much to an outfit and they are so easy to wear. I store mine in two wooden scarf hangers that I bought at the Container Store. I just slide it in my closet right next to my clothes and it barely takes up any space.

These are my two scarf hangers filled with scarves!

Here they all are laid out!

This is a sparkly rose gold infinity scarf that I bought at Gap.

This yellow scarf is one of my faves! I actually have it in coral as well. They both were purchased at Anthropologie.

This fun scarf is from Forever 21!

I love neck tie scarves! They are so classy and sophisticated. You can wear it with a white oxford and a pencil skirt or some nice linen trousers. Tie it on your handbag for a fun update!
This fun polka dot neck tie scarf is from Coach.

This is my other favorite neck tie. I purchased this silk scarf at a small store in Germany. Pair it with red lips and a great white button down!

Summer scarves are so fun! I bought this one from H&M while I was in Washington D.C.

This is one of my absolute favorites in my collection of scarves. I was given this scarf as a birthday present and I love it. It's a grey infinity scarf and seems to go with everything. It looks chic with red lips, a tank top and skinny jeans.

Scarves are a great investment! Choose classic looks that can double as a shaw. I've had some of these scarves for years and I never get tired of them! Invest in nice, thick scarves because well made scarves will last longer and you can enjoy them much longer.

Shoes!

When I moved to Texas Tech University in West Texas, I had to slim down my shoe collection. Or at least leave some at home. At my family's home in Austin, Texas, I had a beautiful closet to display my collection of shoes. My college apartment is much smaller! I had to slim down and decide which shoes were necessities. It may be hard for you to believe, but slimming down for me meant taking only 56 pairs of shoes with me! I have several more pairs of shoes that I had to leave at home because I simply do not have room. Check out some of my shoes!

This is a shoe organizer under my bed. It is from the "Real Simple" brand at Bed Bath and Beyond.

This is a hanging shoe organizer that is also from the "Real Simple" line at Bed Bath and Beyond. I still have a shoe rack in my closet full of shoes.

This is my collection of Uggs! I wear them a ton during the harsh winters in North-West Texas. They're so comfy and easy to wear to class. I usually buy my Uggs through Nordstrom.

Since we are almost finished with Winter, I figured I would write about my boot collection! These are my boots! From the left: Marc Jacobs blue rain boots, BCBG beige flat boots, Nine West black buckle boots, green The North Face snow boots, brown Forever 21 short boots and Bernardo botas.

This is my collection of TOMS! I have skinny feet and I rarely find shoes that fit me well. TOMS are not only a great foundation, but they fit my perfectly! I have 6 pairs of regular TOMS, 1 pair of striped botas and 1 pair of TOMS wrap-up boots! Buy TOMS online.

I have a couple pairs of Tory Burch sandals that I love but these are my two Tory Burch Reva Flats. The black Reva flats with Gold emblem are one of my all-time favorite shoes! They go with anything. They can be paired with casual outfit of skinny jeans and a v-neck top, or with a nice cocktail dress. I love them! Buy Tory Burch Reva Flats at Tory Burch or at Nordstrom
